Finish sanded the second lamination. Steamed spruce for a third and placed in the former.

Removed from former and sanded. Weighed a hoop at just over 3oz, still more material to remove for final assembly, but seems plenty strong.

Removed the strips of wood from the former after drying. Glued them up and placed back in the former for curing.

Removed from the form and rough sanded the lamination. Steamed and put new spruce in the former.

Lightly sanded the 1/8"  strips and mixed up some epoxy. Glued all sides and fixed in the jig to cure.

Turtledeck 1hr

Soaked 1/8" thick strips of spruce an put put them in the forming jig.

Built forms for bending curved pieces. Designed and measured sizes and location of wood pieces.

Rocker arms 5hrs

Cleaned and wire wheeled the rocker arms. Inspected and selected the best 12.

Rocker arms 4hrs

A little more cleaning inside the valve covers. Ran the rocker arms and  valve cover clamps in the wire wheel.

Valve covers 2hrs

More cleaning of the inside of the valve covers.

Valve covers 4hrs

Started cleaning the inside of the valve cover with scotch bright.

Pushrod tubes 5hrs

Cleaned the inside of the pushrod tubes. Cleaned the oring seal seats, and flushed the inside of the tubes. Started wirking on the inside of the valve covers.

Pushrod tubes 3hrs

Removing masking tape and cleaning inside of tube. Used small dremel and wire brush to clean oring end.

Valve covers 5hrs

Cleaned and blasted valve covers.

Blasted the tubes.

Masked off the oring surface area and the ends. Soaked a second set of tubes before cleaning in a solvent.
